It's adapted from Alex Osterwalder's Business Model Canvas for the Lean Startup methodology. ## When to Use - Use at concept stage to capture a business model on one page and expose the highest-risk assumptions for immediate testing. - Apply when comparing multiple opportunity options and teams need a consistent structure for problem, segment, value, and economics. - Run this template before detailed delivery planning to prevent premature investment in unvalidated model components. ## When NOT to Use - Do not use as a one-time artifact that is never updated after customer evidence changes key assumptions. - Do not confuse activity volume with realized value without explicit benefit evidence and ownership (see [Value equals output](../../../docs/principles/anti-patterns.md#value-output)). - Do not use as a substitute for compliance, architecture, or operational planning where those controls are mandatory. ## Pairs Well With - [Hypothesis-Driven Planning Template](hypothesis-driven-planning.md) - [MVP Planning Template](mvp-planning-template.md) Decision context model reference: 800-801-context-assessment-model.md ## Canvas Structure ### 1.
