--- title: "Agile Stakeholder Map Template" methodology: "universal" complexity: "intermediate" owner: "mirichard" updated: "2026-09-19" primary_principles: ["stakeholder-engagement", "systems-thinking"] secondary_principles: ["adaptability", "collaborative-leadership"] principle_rationale: "Maps stakeholder relationships so engagement adapts to influence, impact, and feedback." --- # Agile Stakeholder Map Template ## When to Use - During Agile initiation when product decisions need input from users, sponsors, and operational stakeholders. - When planning which affected groups should join reviews and how feedback will be closed. ## When NOT to Use - As a mailing list without decisions or engagement responsibilities. - Do not represent attendance, distribution, or silence as stakeholder agreement. See [Stakeholder broadcast](../../../../../docs/principles/anti-patterns.md#stakeholder-broadcast). ## Pairs Well With - [Stakeholder Register Template](../../../../../domains/stakeholder/project-lifecycle/01-initiation/stakeholder-analysis/stakeholder-register-template.md). - [Sprint Review Template](../../../../../domains/team/templates/agile/sprint_review_template.md). Selection context: Stakeholder domain; universal methodology; intermediate complexity. Match the situations above to project phase, risk, team size, and industry using the [decision-engine context model](../../../../../meta/architecture-research/800-801-context-assessment-model.md). ## Scrum tailoring These worksheets and suggested agendas are optional practices. In Scrum, the Developers own the plan for delivering the Sprint Goal; selected work is a forecast that can be adapted. A Definition of Ready and story points are optional team practices. Use the product Definition of Done consistently, and treat the Sprint Review as inspection and adaptation rather than a release-approval gate. See the [Scrum Guide](https://scrumguides.org/scrum-guide.html). ## Purpose/Overview This agile stakeholder map template is designed specifically for agile and iterative project environments. It focuses on collaborative stakeholder engagement, continuous feedback loops, and adaptive communication strategies. The template emphasizes user-centric approaches and supports the dynamic nature of agile projects where stakeholder needs and project requirements evolve continuously. ## Usage Instructions 1. **Core Team Setup**: Start by identifying your core agile team roles and responsibilities 2. **Stakeholder Mapping**: Map all product stakeholders using the influence/interest matrix 3. **Ceremony Planning**: Define who participates in which agile ceremonies and their roles 4. **Communication Rhythms**: Establish regular touchpoints and communication frequencies 5. **User Representation**: Ensure strong user personas and feedback channels are established 6. **Decision Rights**: Clarify decision-making authority to avoid delays and conflicts 7. **Feedback Mechanisms**: Set up continuous and structured feedback loops 8. **Regular Updates**: Review and adapt the stakeholder map each sprint or release cycle ## Project Information -
